Our lives will never, ever be the same. The world looks and feels different, what used to be huge concerns in our life are now insignificant, we have to make huge changes. At first, we didn’t know how we were going to get through each day… but we do, because you have to.
We always have love in our hearts, we will never stop fighting for our children & giving them every opportunity in this world, and right now, we are grateful for every day we are all together on this beautiful planet. We will not let Batten Disease bring us down & stop us from living our lives. We are planning our family adventures for this year, building more beautiful precious memories for our family.
The future is not certain, nobody knows what it will bring, so we will not waste our energies worrying about what has not happened yet, and perhaps, what may never happen. The only certainty is the present, and we are not planning on wasting a moment of that.
Meet our Family
A dainty daredevil and superstar princess
I’m always full of cheeky smiles and I absolutely love horses! I dote on my big brother and little sister, and squeal when Louis comes into my room on a morning. I entertain Jessica by throwing my spoons, food and bowls onto the floor! I love watching Disney films, my favourites are Tangled, Brave, Toy Story, and Cars! I also really like watching ‘The Singing Kettle’.
Mammy and fitness fanatic
I’m originally from Carlisle, Cumbria and I met my Glaswegian husband in Newcastle. I fell in love with Daddy Rich and we were married at Matfen Hall, Northumberland in 2014. I love my children more than anything in the world. My passions are fitness, health and wellbeing. I’ve been vegetarian for over 20 years and l love trying out new recipes. I love to bake … when I get the chance! I have set myself a challenge to learn to play the guitar again this year too….
Daddy and cycling crazy
I’m originally from Glasgow and moved to Newcastle to play ice hockey for the Newcastle Vipers… I had actually just dropped my bags in my room on my first day, went out and within a couple of hours I met Gail! I am a family man and love nothing more than playing and acting daft with our three little cherubs! I just adore them. I am a member of Blaydon Cycling Club and I love getting out on my bike.
Best big brother in the world
I’m always trying hard to be the best big brother in the world. My mammy and daddy say I’m so kind & caring, and that they couldn’t be prouder of me. I’m really enjoying school and I loves playing rugby (apparently I’m a natural!) Most of all, I love our Friday Family film night where we all snuggle up on the couch and watch a film with treats!
Little sister and gorgeous bundle of fun
Mammy and Daddy would say I’m best described as a little whirlwind! I’m full of energy and adventure, and I can climb on anything and everything! I absolutely adore our dog Archie too, we’re best pals!
Super loved pooch and best pal
I’ve been an important part of the Rich family for seven years. Gail and Matthew always knew they wanted children so they researched dogs and beagles came up as one of the top for families… they knew I was the one when they first saw me. A few weeks after bringing me home, Gail and Matthew found out they were expecting Louis!
